Special Services

The Special Services Division of the Mt. Juliet Police Department is a multifaceted division dedicated to enhancing the department’s operational effectiveness and readiness. This division encompasses the following key areas:

  • Training and Development Unit: Responsible for the ongoing education and skill enhancement of our officers, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques to serve the community effectively.
  • Municipal/Background Investigations Unit: Conducts thorough background checks and investigations for potential recruits and city personnel, maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Reserve Officer Unit: Manages a team of volunteer reserve officers who support the department in various capacities, providing additional resources and assistance as needed.
  • Staff Wellness Responsibilities: Focuses on the physical and mental well-being of our officers and civilian staff, offering programs and resources to support a healthy and balanced work-life environment.
  • Mental Health Co-Responders: Includes mental health professionals who work alongside officers to provide immediate support and intervention during incidents involving individuals experiencing mental health crises.
